Long Term Parking Upgrades 2024
18th Jun 2024

Broome International Airport will be installing three separate solar systems with a combined capacity of 660kW.

The largest system will be mounted on a new steel structure within BIA’s public carpark, providing 100 shaded parking bays.

The solar systems are expected to supply around 55% of BIA’s power demand and almost halve its carbon footprint.

Please note the following updates during the construction phase:

  •  Change of Traffic Flow: Effective 10th June, some areas of the carpark will be closed while works take place.
  •  Temporary Long-Term Carpark Arrangements: All long-term parking will be located in the unsealed area to the left of the main entrance road. Please follow the signs. During this phase, the daily long-term rate will be temporarily reduced to $12 per day.
  •  Short-Term Parking: Access to the short-term parking area, including ACCROD bays, will remain open however with limited availability. Standard rates apply. Short-term overflow parking is available in the unsealed long-term area at the reduced fee of $12 per day, and don't forget that the first half hour is free.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to make BIA greener and more efficient.
